Life
In misery we see shadows.
In desperation we see a corpse.
In love we see a hollowness.
In all of these we see our end.
But quick, look left and try
To visualize with hope in mind
All the aspirations of a dreamer,
In this we become believers.
Some fall into a rut with no way out,
Thinking that no one can hear their shouts,
Of longing to belong to at least someone,
Someone who can see beyond their faults.
I know that he is out there
Waiting to take this cross of mine and bear,
All of this weight with me in unison,
Joining us together as one.
Now the darkness seems to fade,
Fading away, easing all of the pain
Of the wounds that have run deep
Maybe now we can both sleep
In peace.
In misery we see a challenge.
In desperation we see a friend.
In love we see a soulmate.
In all of these we see the beginning.
